When this Eyre Peninsula couple first visited Maple & Pine, it was the forest surroundings, the outdoor space, and the sense of privacy that won them over. What followed was a wedding weekend that felt, in their words, “unforced and genuine.”
Having the venue for multiple days made all the difference. With setup mostly complete by Thursday evening, the couple spent Friday arranging the outdoor spaces without pressure, arriving at their wedding day feeling calm rather than rushed.
Guests made a weekend of it too, with most staying at the nearby caravan park, others booking Airbnbs and local pubs, while the bridal party based themselves at Cockburn House. A hired bus service gave everyone peace of mind for the journey home.
Personal touches brought the day together: table names drawn from places around their home on the Eyre Peninsula, a neon sign above the dance floor, and a DIY Spotify playlist that “ended up working great anyway.”
Their advice for couples considering Maple & Pine? “Book it. My wedding day is by far one of the best days of my life. The girls at Maple and Pine made everything so easy. Nothing was too much to ask.

About the day
The venue being surrounded by the forrest, the outdoor area and the privacy.
The forest setting gave the day such a relaxed and down to earth feel. Everyone felt at ease, surrounded by nature. It felt unforced and genuine, just us, our people, and the beauty of the trees around us.
Absolutely, I felt so stressed leading up to the day that we wouldn’t get everything finished but we pretty much had all the interior finished by Thursday night. On friday we did all the outdoor set up and I felt so much more at ease.
Logistics & Practicalities
Super easy, it’s great that the venue has a large car park for the guests that chose to drive. We did hire a bus from the hospital and most people chose to use the bus service.
Majority of guests stayed at the caravan park, most people towed their caravans and camper trailers over. A few people booked air bnbs and a few people stayed at pubs. The bridal party stayed at cockburn house.
I would highly recommend a bus service, it’s a good peace of mind to know that your guests won’t be drink driving on their way home
Suppliers & Styling
My husband and I are from the eyre peninsula so we tried our best to use suppliers from home but also support Jamestown and surrounding areas.
We hired the dance floor and extra tables from auburn party hire, our wedding cake was made by wild flour desserts in cleve, blossoms in kimba did our flowers, we made our own Spotify playlist as we left it too late to book a dj but the playlist ended up working great anyway. Our photographer was Bec Smart photo from Wudinna, and Britt from Brit’s Beaty bar Jamestown did the makeup.
We did table names instead of table numbers and the tables were named after areas around our home. e.g. Heggaton, mangalo, Pinkawillinie.
We also had a neon sign above the dance floor, it lit up the dance floor and also looked great in photos.
The experience
I loved the entire day, it’s hard to pick out highlights. Seeing all of our friends and family together felt so special, everyone traveled to celebrate with us and that was so heart warming.
Everyone loved the venue, multiple people commented on how nice the forest looked at night with the lights from the venue shining on them.
Advice for others
Book it! My wedding day is by far one of the best days of my life, the girls at maple and pine made everything so easy, nothing was too much to ask!
We didn’t do this, but a recent wedding I went to did. If you’re okay with a non traditional wedding, get all your photos with your husband and bridal party before the ceremony. This gives you time right after the ceremony to spend time with your guests rather than running off for an hour or more and missing the cocktail hour.
